BITZINGER, JAMES age 90, of Grand Blanc, MI. died Tuesday, May 10,
2011 at the Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich, MI. Funeral Mass will
be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at St. Marks Catholic Church, 7296
Gale Rd. Goodrich, MI. GPS directions - Grand Blanc. Fr. Michael W.
Kuchar officiating. Interment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation
will be 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S.
Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. where a Scripture Service will be Prayed at
7:00 P.M. and...

March 6, 1921 in Flint, MI. to parents Arnold and Maro (Farley) Bitzinger.
He served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II
earning the President's Air Medal three times, the Purple Heart, and two
combat stars in the Russian-Southern France Campaign and was held as a
POW. He graduated from Flint Northern High School, Flint Junior College
and the American School of Banking. James retired as Senior Vice
President - Commercial Loan Officer of Citizens Bank in 1983 after more
than 30 years of service. James was a member of Warwick Hills Golf and
Country Club, served on the board of directors for Big Brothers, and Red
Feather. Surviving are wife Karen; children Gayle Ann (Dennis) Corbin of
Kalamazoo, MI., James H. Bitzinger of Ann Arbor, MI.; 8 grandchildren;
sisters Pat (Ron) Burns, Janet Blakely; several nieces and nephews and
grand-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by first wife Dorothy; parents;
brother Howard Bitzinger; sisters Dorothy Georges and Joanne
Brumley.Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
